Manchester Giants host the London Lions in Play-off Showdown!

Who will get the chance to make it to Wembley?!
On Friday the battle for the final BBL play-off spot will be decided as two of the UK's biggest cities collide!

IT IS ON!

The Manchester Giants are currently two points behind the Lions having played a game less* and whoever wins will have the overall better head-to-head and therefore will take the 8th and final play-off place.

The Manchester Giants returned to the BBL and are looking to use home advantage to get the win over a Lions side which is going through the transition of a move from Milton Keynes.

The two face knowing whoever wins will be playing competitive BBL basketball for at least two more games whilst the other will be looking ahead to next season and trying to build upon solid seasons.

STATS and Tale of the Tape:

 -The London Lions have only won two away games this season - against Cheshire Jets (Phoenix) and Mersey Tigers.

-The Manchester Giants have beaten the Lions at home previously this season by ONE SINGLE point 85-84.

-Orlan Jackman of the London Lions has the best average turnovers with 3.9 per game and a total of 113 turnovers.

-Manchester Giants' David Watt has made the fourth most three-point shots with 71.

-The London Lions have managed an 81-64 win at home to the Manchester Giants in February.

-The Manchester Giants returned to the BBL for the first time in 11 years

-The London Lions meanwhile moved from Milton Keynes (known as the Milton Keynes Lions) and will play next season in the Olympic Copperbox.

-The Giants' top average scorer (playing 20 games or more) is Guard Stefan Gill with 14 per game.

-The Lions' top average scorer (playing 20 games or more) are Tayo Ogedengbe and Orlan Jackman with 16.5 per game.

-The London Lions have scored on average 0.9 more points per game than the Manchester Giants.

-The Giants' have conceded on average 1 point less per game than the London Lions.

-Manchester Giants have the least average field goals in the BBL with just 21.9 per game.

-The London Lions have the second worst 3-point % with 29.1%.

The winners of the game will unfortunately have to take on BBL Cup and League champs Leicester Riders over two legs home and away as they look to add a play-off win to their trophy haul.

Giants' guard Stefan Gill spoke to the BBL and he believes they are ready for the clash.

Kendal Johnson wants to ball in the BBL

Kendal Johnson is an American who wants to play in England in a busy week where he is likely to find out where he will be playing and when. Johnson is the cousin of NBA star Marcus Camby and is looking to be a player/coach in the British Basketball League or English Basketball League. He admits he doesn't know too much about the current state of British basketball but has heard good things. He said: 'I've always wanted to go to England but I don't know a lot about the basketball league, I have a friend at the Worcester Wolves and he has told me there is lot's of positives.'
