Edozie returning to Bristol for 17/18 season

Daniel Edozie has agreed a new one-year deal with Bristol Flyers.

The 6ft 8in forward, who signed his first professional contract with the club, has now committed until the end of the 2017/18 season.

Edozie played in all 33 games for the Flyers last season, averaging 6.6 points and seven rebounds per game.

He said: “I’m very happy to be a part of the club again next season.

“Flyers are a growing organisation and I’ve really enjoyed the journey over the past two years. I’ve learned a lot during my time here so far and I firmly believe we’re going to have a successful season this year."

London-born Edozie joined the Flyers in August 2015, having previously played NCAA Division One basketball under current Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg at Iowa State University.

Edozie becomes the fifth player to commit to Bristol Flyers for the 2017/18 season.

Chelsea and Man United stars clash in 2k18 showdown

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois proved he was a safe pair of hands once again, as he beat Timothy Fosu-Mensah (Crystal Palace, on loan from Manchester United), in the second semi-final of the NBA 2K18 Celebrity Gaming Tournament!
The Chelsea keeper, playing as the Boston Celtics, beat Fosu-Mensah's San Antonio Spurs 39-23.
It means he faces Arsenal defender Rob Holding in the final.
Courtois discussed his passion for the NBA after the game: “I don’t really have a team. I know a few players at the Lakers and at the Knicks, so I like to follow the players I really know well. I’m very excited to see Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers in London for the NBA London Game 2018 for example, I think it will be a great game and hopefully they will win as well.”
Fosu-Mensah then concluded by sharing his excitement for the NBA London Game 2018, “I’ve always wanted to see an NBA game and the London Game is going to be my first one ever, so I’m really excited to go. It’s going to be a grea…

Chelsea 'keeper Courtois downs Rob Holding on 2k18

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was too hot to handle as he won the NBA 2K18 Celebrity Gaming Tournament Final.
Courtois had beaten Crystal Palace stars Mamadou Sakho and Timothy Fosu-Mensah on the way to the final where he faced off with Arsenal defender Rob Holding.
Holding himself had seen off Arsenal teammate Nacho Monreal and England rugby star Owen Farrell to reach the final.
The Chelsea goalkeeper elected to play as the Golden State Warriors, with the Arsenal defender selecting the Cleveland Cavaliers, in a rematch of the last three years of NBA Finals. As in the previous rounds, NBA legend Gary Payton oversaw the contest.
After an incredibly hard-fought match, it was Courtois who was crowned the Champion of the NBA 2K18 Celebrity Gaming Tournament, as his Golden State Warriors team sealed a 39-22 victory over Rob Holding’s Cavaliers, with the Belgian awarded a special NBA2K18 Championship ring to commemorate his victory.
Following his win, Courtois compared the atmosph…

ROUTLEDGE: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it"

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it
I’m Daniel Routledge and for as long as I can remember I’ve been watching British basketball. I’m not quite as old as the league, but its close enough we could be siblings. We pretty much grew up together, I’ve seen the highs and the lows, the false dawns and the unnoticed successes.
Much has been made in recent days about the future of the game in this country, so much so it’s got me thinking about the past.
Whatever your views about the road from here, allow me ten minutes of your time to re-live how we got here.
In the beginning
The first national league of basketball was formed in 1972, in those early days it was a largely amateur pursuit, played out in small sports halls. It was before I was born, but I’ve seen minutes of AGMs where players were reprimanded for not personally selling enough tickets!
By the end of the decade, the structure became a bit more professional and as the 1980s began,the popularity started to boom. …
